Pictured are musicians Anu Grace and Pete Reilly. Warm-up gig: Mojo Risers Neal Ghoshal and Aaron Carpenter play this Friday night at The Barn at Stefano's. Chocolate Fish will launch its new mambo jazz CD titled Scandalicious as part of a big- ger event. The popular island group will play at Stefano s new venue The Barn on December 19 as part of the Surfdale restaurant s grand opening. The limited edition album was recorded live on the island and mixed and mastered by Lloyd Canham of Revolution Audio in Auckland. It features Latin jazz numbers, four original songs, and features the three-part harmonies that original band members Anu Grace, Pete Reilly and Chris Orange are well known for. The Barn grand opening will also feature Pat Urlich as Elvis and popular performer from the Burlesque Festival, Pala Fisher, along with more musicians, circus performers, mime artists and dancers from Otherworld Productions. The entertainment will finish with a performance of zumba from Rahman and friends. Those wishing to dance the night away can do so to the sounds of DJ Raj, and Stefano s will be providing a stream of buffet style food. As a warm-up for the grand opening, music duo Aaron Car- penter and Neal Ghoshal, the Mojo Risers, will be playing on Friday night, December 17, from 9.30pm to 11.30pm. Owner Stephen Hollis says: Stefano s would like to thank its patrons for their loyal sup- port and ongoing support throughout the renovations. We would also like to thank the builders and construction workers for all their dedicated work on the project. Finally, thank you to David and Shane Webster for making it all hap- pen. We are so excited about the new venue and the possibilities it will open up for the Waiheke community. Tickets for Mojo Risers on Friday, December 17, are $10, and for Sunday, December 19 they are $50 -- available from Stefano s in Surfdale.
