By GEORGE GARDNER Blues player Hurricane Shayn Wills is returning to Waiheke to take on The Blues this Christmas. In a post-Boxing Day gig at Sandbar, the popular performer will enter an epic battle of three rounds of non-stop, foot- stomping good-time blues between 3pm and 6pm on Monday, December 27. Former Waiheke resident Shayn now lives in Wellington and has become recognised as one of New Zealand s top blues performers, known for his ver- satile rhythm and lead guitar playing, harmonica and vocals. He has played support for Albert King, Junior Wells, Robert Cray and Canned Heat. He returns regularly to the island and this year performed at the Winter Blues Festival, as well as headlining the Other- world Productions Roarin 20s meets Rockin Blues fundraiser. For only $5 you can witness my epic battle as I sock it to those post-Christmas too much food and spent all the money blues , he says. Sandbar is at 153 Ocean View Rd, Oneroa.
