For those needing an excuse to come back to the island, the winter arts festival Studio Tour is on over Queen s Birth- day weekend, June 2 and 3. The event is an inspir- ing weekend for art lovers with over 20 artists and galleries open to the public. Visitors are encouraged to wander through the island s galleries and make the most of the opportunity. Artists will be on hand in their private studios for art lovers to meet and question. The island s vibrant arts community is heralded as one of the most interesting art destinations in the country. Visitors can come for the day, or make a weekend of stu- dio visits. Tickets cost $25 per person for the two days or purchase a group discount, one car full of up to seven people for only $50. Indulge in great art this Easter Artlovers will be happy as many of the island s galleries and private studios are open this Easter. Art on Moa is having a hibernation sale in its large space at 11 Moa Ave in Blackpool. The Palm Rd Gallery, home to Ingrid Berzins and Katie Trinkle-Legge, will be showing Ingrid s delicate whimsical work and Katie s strong floral and fruit pieces. Stuart Jobling s in- triguing paintings will be on display at 20A Hamil- ton Rd and works by Kelly Diener will be on show at Kennedy Point Vineyard. The painting studio of Emma Wright, at 13 Hauraki Rd, will be wel- coming visitors too. As will Kiya Nancarrow s pottery place of creation at 40 O Brien Rd, Rocky Bay. And Cable Bay Vineyards is exhibiting works by NZ artist Reuben Patterson and displaying luxury out- door furniture.
