Business group chips in By GILL ALCOCK Waiheke Coastguard was one of the recipi- ents of a payout by the fundraising sub- committee of the Waiheke Women s Business Group. Dianne Fougere and Bobbie Travers had the job of handing over the cheques to the worthy causes identified by the group. They say that though the main aim of the business group is to socialise and support each other, the members felt they had enough funding to help support people or organisations that might slip between the cracks of other funding organisations . Waiheke Coastguard volunteer crew chief Robb Henry received a cheque worth $300 from Ms Fougere and Ms Travers. He says the money will go towards training the new influx of volunteers. Our recent recruitment drive was very successful. We now have 10 new people. To get each one up to operations standard takes an estimated $5000. This donation will be very helpful. The Waiheke Budgeting Services also received $400 and the community cinema digital campaign $100.
