Story magic for littlies Packed house: Storyteller Tanya Batt entertains the little ones at Artworks Theatre. By GILL ALCOCK Go to waihekemarket place.co.nz and click on latest edition to watch a singalong with Tanya Batt . A horde of captivated kids crowded out the Art- works Theatre to hear a host of skilfully told tales from international storyteller Tanya Batt. The Thursday morn- ing event celebrated the publication by Clean Slate Press of two new books by Tanya called My Dad's a Dragon Catcher illustrated by former Waiheke resident Helen Bacon and Catch- ing Fish illustrated by Peruvian artist Natalia Vasquez. The little ones were encouraged to join in with the singing, accompanied by musi- cian Craig Denham, and some magic to go with the storytelling. They were also intro- duced to the storyteller's mum who was making a visit from her home in Australia. The crowd later left with many clutching a copy of one of Tanya's new books.
