The Mojo Risers with recording artist Kiri Eriwata, Al Reeve and Andy Lewis on mandolin will be performing at the next Mojo Blues Club night at Stefanos on Saturday. The musical entertain- ment will start from 8.30pm. The Mojo Risers Aaron Carpenter says: After the last smash night blues club night, we re very excited to return, with more blues and soul, and a night which will include a more free form jamming. The blues may seem relatively simple to play, it s a basic format, but to find an original sound can be hard, he says. The trick for us is to play with as much emo- tion, energy and soul as we can muster and it is this which connects with our audience. It will be great to play with Al Reeve, a well- loved and respected musician on Waiheke, and it s always a joy to have Andy Lewis on mandolin too. The evening is a club event so entry is avail- able to members only -- membership is available on the evening at the door for $10. Visit the website mojorisers.co.nz for more information.
