A well-known sports lover, he also enjoys kayaking. He is the founder of The Mad Butcher's Wai- heke Kayaking Club. 8. His first home was a Beasley Group house in Pakuranga. 9. He never won a prize at school -- Rongotai Col- lege in Wellington -- but now he's celebrated in its hall of fame. 10. He was born the youngest of seven chil- dren. 11. To this day he still doesn't know his alpha- bet or times tables -- he suffers from dyslexia. 12. He met his wife Lady Janice on a blind date. They married in 1968. 13. One of his former jobs was as a grave- digger.
