NO1 FRANCHISE 2011 Charlotte having a ball By GEORGE GARDNER Blade runner: Charlotte practises walking on her blades, with her friend and mentor Cameron Clapp encouraging her all the way. Firm BFFs: Charlotte Cleverley-Bisman, 9, is reunited with her friend and mentor Cameron Clapp at Camp No Limits in Maine, United States. Photos: PERRY BISMAN. New friends: Charlotte meets Fernanda, a little Mexican girl from Arizona who is also a meningitis survivor. Big achievement: Cameron and Charlotte with no lower limbs and one arm between them, prepare for the kayak leg of the Camp No Limits triathlon. Charlotte Cleverley-Bisman is having the time of her life after getting the chance for a return visit to Camp No Limits. The specialised camp in Maine, United States, is pro- viding the 9-year-old Wai- heke Primary School student with the type of activities and support she cannot get in New Zealand. She has made new friends, including a Mexican girl from Arizona called Fernanda. Like Charlotte, she became an amputee after contracting meningitis. Charlotte was also re- united with her mentor and BFF'' Cameron Clapp on day one of camp and they later took part in a triathlon together with no lower limbs and one arm between them,'' Charlotte's dad Perry Bisman says. Her can do'' attitude means no limits for Char- lotte. She has tried Pilates, walking on blades, and com- pleted an obstacle course. Perry says camp is hot, the days are huge and they are still adjusting to the time zone. There's been tears of joy and tears of pain but Char- lotte struggles on. Once again she is proving how determined she is to succeed. She's an inspiration to the other kids and no-one can believe how well she has progressed since they saw her last.''
